While the highways of the United States’ southern regions, such as Georgia and Tennessee, offer some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, they are often also deadly. Car and large truck accidents happen often in the rolling hills of the state’s highways, and the individuals involved sometimes lose their lives as a result.

Such was the case for a well-known native Tennessee actress who died in a head-on accident at the end of April. The young woman, known for her recurring role in a reality television show on cable television, was the only occupant in her vehicle when the crash occurred on Old National Highway in Atlanta, where the reality show films. Initial reports noted that the wreck was a hit-and-run accident; however, authorities later revealed that there were only two vehicles involved in the crash.

The young Tennessee native was the only fatality in the wreck and the driver of the vehicle that left its designated lane that evening. According to evidence at the scene, the driver struck the right-side curb of her own lane and rebounded into the opposite lane, where another vehicle hit her head-on. Medical personnel transported her to a nearby hospital, where she died from a number of serious injuries the next morning. The other driver received minor injuries, which medics treated on site. It is unknown why the actress lost control of her car or if distracted driving is to blame for the crash.
